Question for my Watching Public
Apprehensive(Skip the next paragraph if you know about the storyline already.)
In the current storyline, there are two problems that the main characters have to deal with throughout the story. First, the Aztecs, basically the Mexican/American mafia, have it out for the central female character (Sam). Also, one of the secondary characters is kind of roped into being an accomplice to a serial killer, Lexa. This all happens simultaniously over about four years, when most of the characters are 12-18 years old.
So, my idea is to seperate the story into two parts. The Aztec issue would go for about three years, instead of four, and when that was all settled it would be the end of part 1. Lexa would get part 2 all to herself, occuring in the next 2 or 3 years. That way, I can give her story more detailed attention, going at it from several different angles to get all the character's perspectives on it. Also, I wouldn't have to interrupt the Aztec storyline, and use part 2 to follow up on where everyone from part 1 ends up.
Any input for this would be extremely appreciated. This would be a pretty big change, so I want to make the right decision!
